Weatherford is a historic town and proud of its heritage. Located just 20 minutes west of Fort Worth, the city prides itself in its tradition and history. Weatherford is known for its community and family oriented way of life. Because of that, the city is becoming one of the premier places to live in the North Texas area. The residents of Weatherford have helped the mayor develop a vision for Weatherford that balances its rich, western and pioneer heritage with progress and economic vitality. That’s why the city’s motto is “Growing with Tradition.”

Visitors to Weatherford can enjoy its treasures, including a historic shopping district full of antique, boutique and specialty stores as well as restaurants. The city owned and operated Chandor Gardens and the love-story to be discovered within its walls provide a place for residents and visitors to escape from the hectic pace of today’s society. Its old-time Farmers’ Market, First Monday Trades Days, and a bounty of Victorian-era homes bring visitors to the city to share in its desire to maintain its heritage as it grows toward the future.

In making decisions for one of the fastest-growing cities in Texas, the City Council prides itself in working toward their vision in a unified effort with city staff to prepare for the Weatherford of tomorrow. In doing so, they are careful to maintain their heritage in a safe environment where families and commerce are the center of its focus.

Driving Directions

From I-20 in Weatherford, take Exit 408 (Hwy 51 South).
Continue south on Hwy 51 for 10 miles until you see the entrance to Silverado on the Brazos on the right.
(Look for a large billboard directly across from the entrance, but note: it’s not Bosque Ranch).
Drive through the entrance, and when the road forks, keep right.
Do not turn into the first entrance you see; keep going straight. Follow the curve and stay to the right. Use the main entrance.
